Dr. Thomas Ferleman is a seasoned leader in digital innovation, cloud strategy, and emerging technologies, with more than four decades of experience spanning national security, government, academia, and the private sector. A former CIA contractor, he supported global direct action activities, bringing operational insight to intelligence, counterintelligence, and HUMINT missions during pivotal moments in U.S. national security.

He served in senior advisory roles with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, National Security Council (NSC), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Security Agency (NSA), National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Army, specializing in intelligence strategy, operations planning, and global foresight. For his work, Dr. Ferleman received the Meritorious Unit Citation (MUC) from the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), highlighting his contributions to U.S. intelligence operations.

Transitioning, he joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Digital Innovation Leader, where he built the AWS Innovation Program in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) and delivered thought leadership worldwide. He spearheaded multi-cloud strategies, launched high-impact AI/ML adoption initiatives, and trained C-suite executives, developers, and data scientists on how to transform organizations using emerging technologies. He has been a featured speaker at several AWS conferences.

Attempting to retire, Dr. Ferleman along with his wife, Rebecca founded Ferleman Gallery and quickly expanded their impact with the development of a multi-million-dollar art gallery, performance venue, and soon to be restaurant in the Appalachian Mountains, led climate-focused reforestation projects on former coal strip mines, and created new ventures at the intersection of culture, innovation, sustainability, and wellness. Apparently unsuccessful at retirement, Dr. Ferleman is also the Vice President for Cloud Solutions at a small AI startup, specializing in biohealth and life sciences solutions.

An educator as well, Dr. Ferleman has served as adjunct faculty at George Mason University and the University of Maryland Global Campus, teaching courses in intelligence management, data analytics, and engineering. He holds a Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Regent University, with a dissertation in global futures modeling and the future of Russia, as well as an MBA, MSM, and BS in Political Science.

With certifications in design thinking, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity, Dr. Ferleman is recognized as both a visionary strategist and decorated veteran— bridging national security and innovation, and shaping ecosystems where technology, culture, and the arts merge.
